Troop 007 Summer Camps: 2008 and 2009

Note: All payments are non-refundable.

2008

Entrada High Adventure Base.
- Dates: June 2 - 8 (approximate: subject to change)
- Costs: $270 to Entrada + $130 for gas/camping/meals outside camp/extra activities = $400 per participant.
- Payment schedule: $90 now; $175 by Feb 15; $175 by April 15.
- Age restrictions: This is a high adventure camp.
  Minimum age is 14

- Comments: Troop 007 group will choose from multiple high adventure offerings: shooting sports, mountain biking, backpacking, whitewater rafting, rappelling, climbing.

Camp Lawton
- Dates: June 15 - 21
- Costs: $175 to Lawton + $5 for gas = $180 per scout (Troop 007 will pick up the costs for adult leaders).
- Payment schedule: $90 now; $90 by March 15.
- Comments: Located on Mt. Lemmon, this is an excellent camp for younger Scouts (especially rank advancements) and for earning multiple Merit Badges.

Camp Geronimo
- Dates: June 28 - July 5
- Costs: $310 to Geronimo + $30 for gas = $340 per scout (Troop 007 will pick up the costs for adult leaders).
- Payment schedule: $90 now; $175 by Feb 15; $175 by April 15.
- Comments: This camp is a little further from Tucson (near Payson), and offers multiple Merit Badge opportunities as well.

Tall Ship Sailing
- Dates: July 13 - 19
- Costs: TBA
- Payment schedule: TBA
- Comments: Scouts and leaders (30 total bodies) serve as the crew on a tall ship that sails out of Los Angeles. Lots of learning opportunities and duties on board the ship.
  Swimming Merit Badge required.

The only summer camp that has been decided on for 2009 is Philmont; other camps will be decided on later in the year.

Philmont Scout Ranch.
- Dates: June 10 - 22
- Costs (per participant: scouts and leaders pay the same): Philmont cost: $595; transportation (gas + camping): $100. Total cost per participant: $695.
- Payment schedule: $50 now; $323 by Sept 15, 2008; $322 by Feb 15, 2009.
- Age restrictions: This is a high adventure camp.
  Scouts must be 14 by 1/1/09 or have completed 8th grade and be 13 by 6/1/09.
- Comments: 12-day backpacking expedition in Northern Mew Mexico. Two crews of 7-12 people each; no more than 4 adults in each crew.
